Report of Comrade Tupitsin
This chapter deals with the report that was sent from Brest to Minsk by Tupitsyn, a high-rank Soviet official, party secretary, on the 25th of June 1941. The report provides an insight into the tragic events in Brest in the opening days of the war. The author tries to explain the causes of the immense losses and quick retreat of the Red Army.
In the drawing by Vladimir Gubenko, an amateur artist, we see the retreat of the Soviet troops from Brest early in the morning of the 22nd of June.
